Fall break - day two

After checking out of the hotel we surprised the kids by taking them to Bear World.  I know it's a cheater's way of seeing wildlife, but we decided to go for it.

I was freaking out when they got so close!

We took two drives through all of the wildlife before stopping to go in the gift shop and petting zoo.

They have a nice kids area where you can pet deer and pigs and chickens.

And the rides are included too.

It was closing weekend when we were there so ice cream was half price!

And we ended with one more drive through the park, making three total.  It was wonderful.

We were able to do the whole weekend without eating out, so we put our money into the museum and Bear World.  Hopefully they'll remember our fun times.

Tally:
The Hostel hotel, $90
Ripley's Believe it or Not Museum, $58
small souvenirs  $20
Bear World, $70 per car load, including unlimited trips thru the park, petting zoo and kiddie rides
ice cream $12

We ate sandwiches, wraps, muffins, snacks, fruit and water.  Everyone was happy!  Glad we took the chance to get away.
