Official!

I got home and had a surprise on the doorstep.

Hmm, what is that?  Come closer.

Hey look at that.  All those times he *said* he was doing homework? I guess he was serious.

Nice job, babe!

Family night

I told everyone we were going to have fun for Family Home Evening.  We would weed and then harvest some veggies. That's fun, right?

We are thrilled to anounce our corn is finally ready!  9 ears and I'm looking forward to cooking them.

Bugs found this cutie while picking corn.

Hey, wait -

we're supposed to be weeding - -

Oh well, let's have ice cream.

I want to squish her face.

Here is daddy watching the second hand on the clock to time the boys to see how long they can keep their tongues in the cold ice cream.  Why do boys make everything into a competition?

Oh yeah, and our bountiful harvest from the night.  Tons of peppers, including our first red one!

Pinewood derby

The cubs joined with another ward last week for a cool pinewood derby.  This track was smokin'!  6 lanes, all electronic, even kept MPH records.

Watching expectantly

The boys were in heaven! (Here their cars are in lanes 3 and 6)

Busy

Holy moly.

I've clearly been MIA lately; I've been swallowed up by life.

On one hand, I'm so insanely busy that I feel out of my homebody element and I'm barely keeping my head above water. On the other hand, my dreams are coming true left and right!

Over Labor Day weekend we wore ourselves out car shopping and made a sweet deal on this beauty:

Oh, I love her.  When you are used to driving a car that's 18 years old it seems like I'm spoiled to have a "new" 8 year old one.  It's smooth and quiet and I serious love driving for the first time in my life.

Secondly, these showed up on my birthday:

The Miche Big Bag with two shells.

Oh my gosh, SO in LOVE!  What a cool (and sneaky) hubby.  He had it nailed down before I even posted about it.  I have had a smaller Miche bag for years now and loved it.  But this is divine.  The size of it?  Oh so dreamy. And I really don't think I have used it yet without hearing a compliment on it.

Next, this goofy kid got a big part in the school musical , Once Upon a Mattress.  He will be playing the Jester and I could not be more excited for him.  He has talked of acting for years.  I can't wait to see how he does.

Add that to a soccer season, flag football season, pinewood derby, council meetings, church meetings, new church callings, volunteering, parent-teacher conferences, and keeping everyone clean and fed -- I'm pooped.  Happy, but pooped!

Utah State Fair 2010

Oh the fair, the fair.  The first feel of fall for me.  My favorite time of year; football, family, my birthday and the fair.

This year did not disappoint.
Princess "farming"

Strider and Potter at the ego sledgehammer

And just about my favorite part.  Second place :)

The boys each had a free ride coupon from summer library reading and spent some time picking out the perfect ride for them.  Jedi wasn't feeling well and gave his ticket to his little sister.

And a random shot of a yummy funnel cake taken by one of the kids.

I forgot to take pics of the rodeo. The bulls were the most exciting part, as usual.  The kids loved them.

The fair still goes for another week, so what are you waiting for?

Enter something? Check.

A goal of mine for several years now has been to enter an item in the Utah State Fair.

Today I did!

Here she is; finished and ready

Princess takes the camera as I check in

I get instructions on where to pick it up after the fair has ended

Rosebud is simply thrilled at the waiting

It's official! Yay.

(The green dot on my tag means amateur, thank goodness)

What an awesome feeling.  Why don't I set more goals?

When I win the lottery...

Oh my loveliness

Anyone have a Miche Big Bag?  Do you love it?
