Anyway, Jedi had a birthday 10 days ago and he got so many neat things. He literally plays with every gift he got every day. One of the wow gifts though, was a set of two hermit crabs from Aunt A and Aunt J. I know, our family with animals; the thought is pretty crazy. He named them Batman and Robin.
Well, that first night they were super active and getting used to their habitat (our old fish tank) and it was so fun watching them. By morning, though, nothing. They had both buried themselves in the sand and were out of sight. For 8 days, no sign of them. They didn't eat the food and never touched the water.
Sunday morning it was like a birthday again. First of all, they were alive. They were moving all over and over-turning all their stuff LOL. So we knew all was well.
After a long day of church and family visiting we got home late. As Jedi got ready for bed he heard the shell scraping the tank again and went to go check out their digging progress.
Uh, little problem. Batman was on top of the tank stuck in the vent holes.
After a minute or two he freed himself and was rewarded with more shell toys, and rearranged "furniture" and fresh water for the night.
What an adventure!
LOL next thing you know you will find a crab in the kitchen? Fun pet, but I do have to say You are a brave mom. I think I will stick with the dog.
