Builders

Strider works for an amazing school. Each student memorizes the builders poem below and they recite it weekly and any time they gather together. Their theme for everything is being a BUILDER.

Yesterday was the annual Builders Assemby; they award one elementary teacher and one junior high teacher who have shown themselves to be exceptional builders. Strider was awarded the Jr High Faculty Builder Of The Year. It was an emotional moment. I am so pleased to have shared it with him and I know first hand all the love he has for these special students. He works so hard to give them the very best he has to offer.

Read the poem. Are you a builder?

  5. The poem that you have on your website title ‘Wreckers or Builders’ was written by father and published in 1967.

The poem’s original title is “The Wreckers”. It was written by Carmelo Benvenga under the pseudonym Charles Benvegar.

It was first published in the book "Songs of the Free State Bards" a poetry anthology edited by Vincent Godfrey Burns, Poet Laureate of Maryland, and printed by New World Books of Washington D.C. and copyrighted 1967. The poem appears on page 7 of this book and is clearly attributed to my father.

Please attribute this poem to my father when you use it.

    Regards.
