Hmmmm Facebook.
Aren't I too old for this?
I keep getting invited to check out the profiles of friends.
Do I want to take the plunge?
I probably already waste enough time online as it is. But the networking, they tell me. All the old classmates. Find all those long lost buddies and gal pals.
Should I?
I too have been invited to facebook many times and I even once looked at my friends profile on it. I really feel like it isn't a good use of time...I like you am on the computer a lot just looking at blogs, add facebook and I would be in trouble so I SAY NO!!
ReplyDeleteDo you have an urge to talk to people from back when?
ReplyDeleteThe only redeeming quality, is it's link to old friends. I have found 2 good friends. But I really don't see what every one is so excited about. I glance at it once a day. I'd rather blog, and read peoples' blogs. I have noticed a huge drop off from the blogging world, and i'm sad that people turn to face book instead.
ReplyDeleteDOWN WITH FACEBOOK.
Anyway, my own opinion, I seem to be the only one that thinks this way.
All I can say is that is can be addicting. Let me know if you sign up.
ReplyDeleteI use facebook. It is amazing just how many old friends/classmates/family/etc. you find/find you on there! So if that's what you're looking for, it's good. As long as you want to talk to all those people ;) I have a ton of people in my friends list, but in all honesty, I don't correspond with many of them. Just a handful here and there. So that's my experience with it. I do still have an account, so that does say something!
ReplyDeleteI'm of the no opinion.
ReplyDeleteI'd rather blog and email who I want. It would be nice to find old roommates. but I'll have to find them another way I guess.
I am on Facebook and it works for me. I have over 200 friends that include family, friends I met in grade school, people I see at church but don't get much time to talk to, and people that I've never met in person, but enjoy reading blogs with them online.
ReplyDeleteOther than my blog and a post on MySpace once every month or two I don't keep up on any other social networking sites though. There's too many to do it all, so pick what works for you and stick with it. If Facebook will just drain time you don't have then don't bother. But if it will help you connect with people better than use it and consider dropping something else.
I am on facebook...but I don't spend tons of time there. Like everyone else, I love all the people to get in touch with. The other day one of my favorite YW leaders found me on there. I haven't talked to her for YEARS and I know I wouldn't have any contact with her otherwise. I think it's worth it...and I don't think it's as addicting as blogging can be.
