Works for me Wednesday - wreaths

Okay, I love wreaths. A naked door makes me very uncomfortable.
I want to share my easy wreath solution. I keep my costs down by making my own seasonal wreaths and it's very easy.

My trick is to use one grapevine wreath over and over. Just use wire to attach a garland, bow, something cute from the craft store instead of hot glue.

Then you can remove the items at the end of the holiday or whenever you get tired of it. Easy to change, cheap to buy. It works for me!

  1. Great idea, and beautiful wreath! I think wreaths are so pretty, but don't buy them because of the expense. Your idea is not only affordable, but fun too! :)

  3. I've made wreaths for my door but never one for spring. I also never thought of reusing the same grapevine wreath. Great idea!

I almost want to run to JoAnn's now and make a Spring wreath. Unfortunately, it will have to wait for now......thanks for the inspiration!

  4. Great idea Jen! I have never really thought about it this way.

Thanks for the visit today on my blog. I was going to tell you to start a kitchen notebook and keep it out when you are creating. I lost so many great meals before I started doing this. I love it and it has proven to be very valuable to our family. I am going to type up all the favorites and print each child a recipe book of their family favorites when they leave the nest.

  5. Thank you for this idea! I have an autumn wreath and also winter wreath which is still adorning my front door. With Spring around the corner I'd love to have a Spring wreath but have had little luck finding one to buy, let alone an affordable one. I'm going to have to try this!

  6. You are so creative and practical Jen. I mean really we don't have too much space in this small houses to store things and what a great way to save money. I think you should bring this up for all the sisters in the ward!!

  7. Great idea! I have an old grapevine wreath decorated for Christmas that has seen better days--will remake it for spring. I just saw 18 inch dark brown grapevine and light brown rope-vine style (like thick wicker not straw) at the Dollar Tree--very unusual for them to carry the larger size--a buck is a great start on a frugal project!
